According to the Federal Act on Commercial Travellers of 4 October 1930, commercial travellers who are employed or self-employed, who sell products or take orders for goods, need a green card (for resellers and traders) or a red card (for small commercial travellers who only sell to end consumers).
- Hawkers
- Travelling craftsmen
- People selling items from vehicles
- People selling at camps (time limit on sales)
- Performers (e.g. at circuses or street musicians)
- Vending machines and newspaper dispensers outside business premises
- Tropical fruit patents
