The Canton of Glarus Contact Centre for Business, the Institute for Young Entrepreneurs (IFJ) and other centres of expertise will accompany you on the road to setting up your own business. With the IFJ's online service – the most widely used in Switzerland – you can set up your limited liability company, sole proprietorship, joint stock company or general partnership from anywhere and at any time. Experienced experts, lawyers and notaries take over the entire process for you. The Canton of Glarus covers a significant portion of the start-up costs with the IFJ, at maximum CHF 300. Simply contact the contact center for business, by telephone or e-mailafter you have entered your details. The money will be credited to you once the company has been set up.

Personal consultation on self-employment

The Glarus Local Development Strategy offers you a one-hour consultation with experienced start-up experts from the IFJ, providing answers to your queries and valuable tips. The IFJ looks forward to hearing from you viaCoaching. Please be as specific as possible in your e-mail about the advice you require. You will then receive an invitation to attend a consultation.

Intensive courses to prepare you for setting up a company

The IFJ's intensive courses teach you matters when setting up a company or how to write a business plan. You can find the up-to-date course programme here: https://www.ifj.ch/inform/courses. The courses are free of charge for you thanks to the cooperation between the Glarus Local Development Strategy and the IFJ.

Foreign nationals setting up companies

A growing number of foreign entrepreneurs are setting up their companies in Switzerland. EU/EFTA nationals benefit from the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons. This means that a different procedure applies to them than to nationals of all other states (third countries). The IFJ website offers more information.
