In Switzerland, land is scarce and expensive. Land is not quite as expensive in the canton of Glarus, where there is plenty of inexpensive space for your company. Prices for industrial and commercial building land are below the national average, and rents for properties and brownfield sites are 20 to 80 percent lower than in nearby Zurich, depending on the part of the canton. Your employees will also find apartments or houses in the canton of Glarus that cost significantly less than in the large conurbations. This is despite the fact that the canton of Glarus has excellent connections to Zurich.

Building permits
Every construction project must be approved and granted a permit. The municipalities review all building applications, and reach their decisions on the basis of Federal and Cantonal laws and ordinances.
